HARTFORD, Conn. (July) – KNOX, Inc., today announced its annual Garden Party fundraising event will take place on Thursday, August 14, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 155 Wyllys Street in Hartford, and will feature food made with locally sourced ingredients, beverages, live music, dancing, and a silent auction. This year’s party will also feature an elegant masquerade theme, so wear your most enchanting mask!
During the event, attendees can explore the Good Shepherd Community Garden, where more than 20 families grow vegetables, herbs, and fruits in an area otherwise considered a food desert.
Guests will also have the chance to savor local, seasonal dishes crafted by some of the region’s finest chefs, highlighting the importance of Hartford’s garden-to-table movement.
All funds raised at the event will support KNOX programs and volunteer initiatives, including planting trees in Hartford, maintaining 21 urban community gardens across the city, providing green job training to city residents, offering environmental education to Hartford students, and maintaining city planters, among other initiatives.
“KNOX is thrilled to be back at it again this year with our annual Garden Party and celebrate the incredible progress we’ve made working with our community to create a greener, healthier Hartford,” said Patrick Doyle, Executive Director of KNOX. “Your participation in our big annual fundraising event contributes to our sustainability initiatives that enhance our local green spaces, environment, and quality of life in Connecticut’s capital city, so pick up your ticket today.”
This year’s sponsors include McCarter & English and Talcott Financial Group.
Individual tickets are $150, VIP tickets are $200, and a VIP table (including 8 VIP tickets) is $1,600. VIP access includes a tote bag and Hartford-grown goodies.
